Our History

The Williams family has been providing quality recycled auto parts to the people of Houston for over 70 years.

Our company was founded by Walter F Williams Jr. in 1949. Grandpa Walter grew up alongside the earliest mass-market automobiles. With help from his father, Walter Sr, the family channeled their passion for cars and trucks into a salvage business. The two men spent the next few decades providing cheap and reliable parts to keep their neighbors’ vehicle running as Houston grew from a small town into a large and sprawling city.

In 1974, Walter’s son Walter G Williams took control of the company and managed daily operations through the new millennium. During those 30+ years he was able to refine our testing and operational processes to keep up with growing demand in the bustling metropolis. Walter became a fixture in the industry, eventually leading several state and regional salvage organizations.

Today, Williams Auto Salvage is recognized as Houston’s oldest salvage yard and a third generation has stepped up to continue the business. Daily operations are managed by Walter’s son Matt while Walter’s other son Luke maintains the most accurate and diverse inventory of auto parts available in the Houston area.

As we pass our 70th anniversary, we are just as driven by the passion that caused Grandpa Walter to take a chance in the then-new field of auto repair. And as cars get more and more complex and computerized, we will keep adapting with the time to ensure that you get the right part the first time. Call us today to see how our history can help fix your car.
